Blaxter

Blaxter sandstone is extracted near Otterburn, Northumberland. This honey coloured sandstone has been quarried since the 1890’s and has been used in many prestigious buildings throughout the UK. Blaxter has been also been heavily used in Edinburgh in particular to supply buildings such as the National Library of Scotland, the refurbishment of the former Jenners store and the Holyrood Hotel amongst many others.

Blaxter quarry is a large quarry and has very good stone reserves.
